    Re: Heated side view mirrors

Hmmm, that's a good point Mafix. Thanks
You are correct, the door harness is different b/c it would have those heating wires in it.

I'll remove what I can of the mirror wiring harness and go from there.
Cold time of year to be messing with this stuff!

get a set of heated with the pigtails from a member or junkyard. then wire the stock mirror controls to your existing harness. the just run the 2 wires for the heater right on top of the stock harness. mabye even make a quick connect near the door harness connection in case you have to remove doors later. hell even polarity doesn't matter so wiring will be a breeze. i think the hatch heater wire even runs down the drivers side. so i'd just tap in there.

As the electrical wiring has a tendency to baffle me, I really appreciate the advice. I'll try what you suggested.
    Thanks Mafix

    PS - If it's successful, I'll do a write-up.

    Edit:
    86 GTS mirrors are non-heated; 87 GTS, 88 GTS & 89 GTS' and All-Trac are heated.
The 86 GTS is, however, pre-wired to accept the heated 5-pin mirrors.

    It's a straight bolt-in

ST and GT mirrors are non-heated from 86-89, in Canada.
