Hi All! This is my first post on this forum - glad to be aboard! I have an '89 vert that I bought end of last summer. She needs a bit of work, but she's very sound structurally. (That impressed me as 4th Gens don't seem to have fared well here in South Florida.) Some searching brought me here, and I owe a tremendous debt of thanks to 89celicagt for posting the bulk of this manual! I would like to alert '89 convertible owners that the data presented in this manual - while invaluable - is not necessarily definitive: for example, my top stack circuit breaker is located in the PASSENGER side kick panel. Lemme tell ya - I was bordering on insanity by the time I made that discovery! I did a cleanup of 89celicagt's scans (to eliminate most of the bleedthrough) and assembled it into a PDF with bookmarks and a clickable TOC. If there's any interest, I'll post it.
welcome. any additional info and help is always welcome. we would love to see pics no matter the condition. you should post photo's ect. in the new members area or start a build thread in the members rides sec.
Thanks and yeah it's super rare. Another board member pointed it out to me on fleabay and I snagged it at all cost :mrgreen I didn't finish scanning all of it though. When time permits, I'll post the rest and make it into a single PDF or something
Thanks it was a lot of paper and my wife squawked until i showed her the price at auto lit. dealers Howard
You're welcome, I'll try to get back to scanning the rest. It's kind of a tedious, time consuming task which is why I still haven't finished ops :cheers
Hi! I also have an 89 cvt, and am very interested in your BGB that is specific to our cars "convertible-ness"! Way to go getting it copied! Is there any way I can make a contribution to your fund to make a dvd of the data in that BGB, and get a copy of it? Thanks and best regards, MSH
I don't plan on charging anyone, I'll get back to scanning the rest and make a PDF. Just to clarify, this isn't the BGB and the BGB itself doesn't have ANY vert related info like this. THIS is a printed "Repair Manual Supplement" and is all we have to go by. -Kevin
I can attest to how hard they are to get ahold of. It took me probably 3 years to get mine. I suppose I could have got one sooner, but the only one that was around for such a long time was I think around 80 bucks on eBay. I finally snagged one up real quick as soon as it was posted for 20 bucks. :eek5  . It's still in my BGB/OEM collection, and I doubt I'll ever part with it...
