    image.jpg All systems GO

This is how the gauges should look on my automatic when idling in Drive.
    Good oil pres.
Running cool / slightly below half.
Charging at good rate w/ my new 70 amp alternator.
    Full tank of dinosaur fossils.
And only 242 on the clock...

After thirty years of hard use my Celi is starting to loose it's GTS-ness... but not under the hood (bonnet)
    And Yes, that's a 1966 Matra D-Jet 5 under the green cover image.jpg image.jpg

Passed smog on first go 'round ...
Now I've got two more years to drive it.
California has some of the strictest smog standards in the known universe

image.jpg image.jpg Sure like the 70 amp alt...seems like it's not straining so much w/ accessories on.
Still got the weird noise in front end ....possibly a f'd-up motor mount.

image.jpg The two motor mounts were knackered (f'd-up)
The front one for the ECT Trans was completely separated
image.jpg The main one one the timing side was almost as bad with broken welds on the studs
Both were cheap no-name aftermarket shit that is readily available....avoid at all costs!

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg It's always a good idea to regularly check the boneyards for 4th gens....a while back I got all this and more for $40.
That's how I converted my 87 to facelift front only.
The doner was a faux white lightening coupe with white molding (very rear here in SoCal)

I wish we got stuff from wrecking yards that cheap over here... I just paid $70 for one front corner light...

image.jpg Right....this was a while back. Since then LKQ has taken over the world and the prices have literally doubled.... also no more 1/2 off on rainy days and their real half-off days are 40% off hahaha

image.jpg Been chasing a few gremlins lately...mostly fan and AC related.
image.jpg This was a cheepo exhaust I did last year. These twin tip generic muffs are pretty easy to find at old mom & pop muffler shops. Previously it had a stock GTS-type lifetime Midas setup but after about 4 replacements in twenty or so years I decided to give them a break and try something dif.
image.jpg This unit is fairly throaty with a nice rasp over 5 grand...considering it's a ECT auto that doesn't really like to rev.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg So many datsuns where I hang out...I've finally gotten some of the old guys to jump on the beams bandwagon.
There's talk of sourcing a rear wheel drive one for an old toy pick up

I thought the 240Z in the first pic was a Ferrari 365 for a minute there. Whats the car in the second pic?

The green one is a 70 Datsun 521 pick up with SR20DE (non turbo).
It's been slammed with coil overs (completely removed the factory torsion system) and discs all around.

Forums started dying when Facebook got big and people started using their mobile phones more than their PCs, but yeah Photobucket has really finished the job. Which is a shame because forums are a much better resource for users searching for information and for contributors sharing and categorising information.

I'll keep using the forum, partly because I don't have a FB page and partly because I'd like to keep the site alive and preserve the (now mostly picture-less) information and stories that are still here.

Agree....old guy here w/ no social media (shoot..,no social skills at all for that matter).
I want to see this forum regain it's status as one of the preeminent authorities on something..

image.jpg This was the faux white lightening at the local LKQ a while back...
That's where I snagged the face-lift for my '87 GTS.
I'm always monitoring the SoCal junkyards for 4G's. Usually there's a couple within earshot.
