Some of you may know what we've been talking about, but I don't really know what everyone thinks about it hence the post. Please keep in mind:

    1) The current engine is on the way out - 141k
    2) She IS a droptop and there's just so much you can do without reinforcing the frame like Eric has done to his 'trac. However, body and frame are MINT.
    3) Somewhat limited budget. (Yeah well, we'll see about that.)
    4) NY has a visual emmision inspection looking for cats and such. After 2014, she will go "classic" and then I can do whatever I want.
This is no pipe dream people, somethin's going down very soon. Comments and opinions welcome. :D

I know Talitha did it, but no one else has. Boost would twist that uni faster than chubby checker did back in the day. :p

Edit: Not mentioning any names this time, but PLEASE keep in mind that this car will be DRIVEN! No trailer queens for me.

Gah...I can't vote. I'm biased towards your purchasing the JDM 3SGE from Willie because it removes it from my garage. I would say build a 3SFE, but even built its a joke of a motor. Still sorely underpowered. Forget that non-sense.

A 3SGE swap would be fun, and while a turbo would be great I think the expense of 93 octane every fill up would get to you after a while. So, I would lean toward a 3SGE swap, and do a couple fun body mods. I'd like to stick an Aeroform kit on that car. Or get an imported kit from down under.

I'm loosing my train of thought.

depends what u want it for ;p just do a 1g gte swap, or since ur driving a gt a ge would be fine but like i said depends what u want it for. 140 000 miles? thats no where near on its way out. ive had mine from 130 and beaten the shit out of it every day up til 181 and it still runs awesome (and went over "max speed" a few days ago haha)

    140? 181? noobs haha.

I'd vote JDM 3S-GE, aeroform kit or maybe an alltrac one, just an excuse to paint it and cover more the of black with white.

and for that visual inspection get a fake cat and weld up the entire exhaust system. worked for me.

Interesting responses. Just to clarify, when I said "it's on it's way out" there's technically nothing wrong with it besides a oil leak somewhere. I just meant it's coming out of the car. ;)

I like the fake cat idea underscore

Any appearance mods is low priority with the exception of tires/ rims. :D

The cat trick is an old one. Not sure if Willie can rig that one up real quick though.

An Alltrac kit would look sick on a vert I would think. I've got one laying around we could mock up. I'm kicking around the idea of going to the Aeroform kit for mine instead of back to the alltrac kit. But I'm always kicking around some different ideas.

nice idea alltrac kit on a vert. i like that too. and for life and reliability i'd say stay away from turbo. they are a pain to keep up on.

V6 isn't an viable option Rye

Didn't know the alltrac kit fit on a coupe/vert?
Wouldn't mind some kind of rear spoiler.

Why isn't the V6 a viable swap? I did mine complete with tranny for about $2600.00.
