so then it is something else and not your starter...have you checked your ignition?

I have the stuff and am going to do this mod to my Celica, but there is one thing I am wondering. It looks as though some folks have supplied the fused 12V directly from the battery, and some have supplied it from the 12V going to the starter (larger wire). Any recommendation as to which would be better? Thanks

I wanted to add this as It was from a very old site we use to use. Hope it helps out. Mafix if you like this you can put it up on the main portion as well :).

although you don't need to splice. a butt and spade connector turns it into a plug/play mod, no need for cutting

Is this starter mod for all year celicas? My 89 GTS has two amps on the pos side of the battery, that at first glance appear to run to the starter? When my car wouldn't start I wiggled one and it fired up. Did they correct this issues by 89?

do we need to take the old wires out or the booster wires are just in addition of the stock wires? if no splicing is requried then i am assuming that we do not disconnect the old wiring right?

They did not fix it in the 89GTS - I had to do the mod too and just added new wires

you unplug the wire going to the starter, and the whole mod goes in between the wire that you unplugged and the starter.
