I'll post pics later, but I found a gray 86 coupe with almost NO RUST on the body panels. The fenders are straight. The hood is straight. The doors are straight. The trunk lid is straight. The rear bumper is in excellent condition. The taillights are not cracked. The grill is still there. The original Toyota windshield is not cracked. The interior is gray and has been partially disassembled, but of what remains everything is in good condition. The dash has no tears or cracks, but has the familiar bubbling/delamination near the defrost vents. I'm willing to pull parts and ship them. But doing that is a bitch and a bunch of work. And this yard doesn't post prices. So if you need something you will have to make an offer for me to go get it. I'll post pics tomorrow....
If you swing back by I'm looking for a couple small cosmetic pieces that look good on that car, and one silly thing. The piece I'm really after in the windshield trim down the passenger side. Mine blew off the car somewhere while driving across the country. I'm also looking for the little black triangle piece that covers the mounting screws for the drivers side rear view mirror. And finally (this one is silly) the windshield washer fluid cap. Like I said these are pretty small and I bet shipping (probably use a tube) will be about the same as these end up costing. How does your cost + $10 + Shipping sound? I'm in CT, my zip is 06085.
Smooth, I actually went to the yard twice and forgot to grab your parts. When I went again yesterday I remembered . Good news is I pulled off the passenger side windshield trim. Bad news is I broke one of the clips....you'll probably break the other two when you try to install it. So go to the dealer and ask for three clips; P/N 75533-20220. The washer reservoir cap was eaten through by a rodent. The drivers mirror triangle was gone. But I might have a spare for you. I think this will be about $15 to get to you after all is said and done.
Does anyone want the headlight assemblies? I seriously want to save as much of this car as possible. Maybe the pics look shitty, but I'm telling you all....this is a solid car. Remarkably well preserved for being an 86 and no accidents/major rust/ridiculous modding.
Heyo, If you haven't grabbed those bits for me yet hold off for the moment. I'm so n the UK and found someone breaking an 88 GTi over here so will try to take the parts off myself.
Ah bugger I had very ocational internet there and missed your responce. I picked the stuff up. How much did they charge you for the trim? I'll still cover it, I don't want to be "that guy." I posted a couple photos of the car in the pics section. I can get my brother who is still in the UK to get the guys e-mail for you. I was the first one to get to it so a lot is still there.
Smooth, don't worry about it. I can always use the part at sme point. I've been collecting parts for years....
