got a really bad oil leak, thought it was the distributor o ring (leaks too), until i pulled the wires to find oil in 3 holes, bought a new valve cover gasket with the tube seals

question are the metal tubes in the head perfectly or could they come out and leak, just need to find out where the oil is coming from, help appreciated

also my distributor works fine but some of the plastic on the inside is cracked a lil, and on the outside at the bottom theres a big crack running down , the cap still fits on fine tho...i did have a lil oil residue inside....if it works it should still be fine?

use a two nut set up to retighten your tubes into your head...they do come loose.... hence the oil.

if there is oil on the inside of the distributor then the inner seal is likely bad, its a seal that prevents oil from traveling down the shaft as it spins

i ended up using 2 nut method, took them out cleaned threads and resealed them, new plugs, old were .025-.035 over and looked beat, new value cover gasket and round seals, new dist o ring (is a ring all it needs to seal, becuz someone else had sealant everywhere around it and just rammed it in) plus my dist goes in kinda easy

just gotta time it and im done
