I'm wondering if the head gasket and sump from a revision 2 3sge will fit my 1st gen as moroso
do a baffled sump, and i cant find a thinner head gasket for the rev 1 3sge but can in the rev 2.

if anyone knows that would be greatly appreciated

I know the Moroso pan works, as I have one that I will be installing. May need minor modification to the pan baffle. The head gasket, not sure?

Alright awesome glad to hear that, I read somewhere a gen 2 uses a gen 1 block

    Thanks heaps for clarifying that

    yes and yes.
you will need an oil level sensor block off from speedsource

not exactly. no gen1 ge had oil squirters afaik or knock sensors and they use a spring tensioner pulley.

whereas some gen2 did have oil squirters, knock snesors and a hydraulic tensioner like the gte. (ADM did but not JDM, dunno about USDM)

the cranks are different also, diff PCD for flywheel.

but for your intents and purposes the head gasket and sump are interchangeable.

Gen1 & 2 blocks are different, gen2 has oil cooled by water as on later 5S/3SGTE blocks and an extra hose on the rear like on the GTE blocks.
I switched to a gen2 block after boiling my oil on the track with the gen1 motor so I'd suggest an oil cooler if you use the gen1 block.(Our JDM's didn't come with coolers?)
JDM gen2 GE does not have oil squirters but the gen2 GTE does. The squirters are designed to keep turbo pistons cool so not needed in an N/A motor, definitely get rid of the stock rods as those holes are also useless and I believe do the bearings no favours.

For my new motor I'm looking to use a late 5S block/crank with the balancer removed, it's much stronger and proven in many 700hp+ builds, along with a gen2 GTE head running N/A with a stock Gen1 ECU/harness and gen3 sump/pump which doesn't suffer from surge problems as with the Gen1/2 sumps.
Whichever block you decide, look carefully for signs of rust as many are borderline inside.

Yes, heads and sumps are interchangeable on gen1-2
