So after doing a lot of work on my car and many dyno runs later after each mod ive hit a brick wall :banghead im only able to get 250whp on 95ron before it starts detonating the tuner said he found the sweet spot with boost and timing and that's all he can do. any advice guys?
many people say octane booster fouls the plugs. there is the water injection path but that means i gotta make sure its topped up and the mix is right. what fuel are the other high powered celicas running on here?
The mixture I used to use was 5lt toulene to a 20lt racing fuel that boosted to +- 108 octane it worked perfect for me.
Run BP98? I don't think trying to fix the symptoms is the answer. It's either lean, too much compression or timing - so the only way to solve it before the motor goes in the bin is to figure where the problem lies and fix it I've driven behind guys running Toulene on 16-1CR and believe me it isn't fun or cheap Give us some specs, charts etc and maybe our boosted experts can tell you what to do
sorry for the late reply. ended up taking my car into pitstop, the manager there owns a 600hp 5th gen drag celica. gave me all the right advice. the bad things were the intercooler was to small the pipes were to small . wastegate piping was all wrong. got it all fixed up. engine lasted abiut a month then the bottom end blew :banghead . so now upgraded to a 4th gen 3sgte stuck that in. just finishing up the tune and things should be good ill keep you posted
4th gen motors all up and running. engine didn't come with a turbo, so got a 3rd gen cast manifold and used my old ct26 to t3 adapter and the t3/t4 turbo seen as it was my daily driver. came off the dyno at 300hp with 95 octane because i cant get 98 octane easily. now that's it not my daily driver (purchased a caldina gt-four st246). i can tune it with a new manifold, turbo and higher octane
Ah, good to hear its running again ! What psi did you 300hp at ? Sent from my HUAWEI G510-0100 using Tapatalk
That was at 15psi. here is the link to the dyno sheet http://www.st162.net/forum/showthread.php?6062-The-Celipa
