I dig mine as well  I'd like to do the rear also, but I'm afraid the top will hit it when it folds down :ugh

no i meant the anti roll bar under the car you must be confused with a strut tower brace.....i was unaware they made those. If so i would love a link or pics.....sounds awesome. nice cars btw i love the coupes. id love to buy my wife a convertible. that would be the celica trifecta for me. Have to get mine whooped into shape first.

I have seen the rear strut tower brace (or 2) here somewhere (with no parcel shelf) and I have been pondering the difference between it and a new sway bar................. I know which is easier to fit but which would be better ??????

BTW....... It wouldn't be hard to mod/make a new parcel shelf

20 years on, the roads are built better which allow for more aggressive driving.

After much reading and deliberation I'v decided to go with a thicker rear swaybar and the fact that I have to cut the interior for a strut bar is not for me.

My question is, how much thicker for the rear swaybar without being ridiculously stiff :munch

    tiny. like 13mm iirc.

-imo it would be best to just the front if your only going to do one.

Can anyone confirm for me the Part Number for the whiteline front bar? I have a BTF60 I planned to use on my ST165 but am being told it wont fit.

Whiteline USA lists only the BTF60 for the 162/165 chassis cars, if I could still read the sticker on my '88 GTS, I would confirm this for you. I don't remember seeing a seperate number for the front bar, but do know there are 3 different numbers for the rear, 18mm for 162s and a non-adjustable and adjustable 20mm rear for the 165. I'll check one other soarce just to find out if there is another and/or different bar between models.

Just remembered I have an old Whiteline parts manual in my race shop, I'll look for it tomorrow when I'm out working on the Celicas. I'll let you know what the part number and/or numbers are for the front bar/bars that you need.

I'm actually interested in swaybar options for the 162's, as well. The link above only lists a rear swaybar for 162's.

Found the Whiteline Catalogue and here are the numbers....

    162 Front; BTF60 (22mm)
    162 Rear; BTR32 (18mm)

    165 Front; BTR73 (27mm)
    165 Rear; BTR78 (20mm) Non-adjustable
    165 Rear; BTR78Z (20mm) Adjustable

If you can find one here, contact Rick at www.toyheadauto.com he can usually locate hard to find Celica parts.
