    Hello!

As some of you may already know, I have an 89 GT chassis with a GTS suspension and a 1MZ V6.

We were preparing for an endurance race and went to Heartland Park yesterday to test out some modifications that we recently made.
About halfway through the day our engine decided it was done and blew it self up.

The race we are still planning on going to is the next weekend, but before then we need to do an engine swap. This leads me to why I am here making this thread:

Is there anybody in the Kansas City area who is willing to lend a hand with an engine swap this Saturday? We can't pay you cash, but will provide lunch and dinner as well as an assortment of beers or sodas if you don't drink or are not old enough to drink.

We will first be pulling another 1MZ out of a camry at the junkyard, and then going back to our garage, pulling out the broken engine, swapping over some parts, and putting in the new engine. This is a lengthy process so we could really use all the help we can get. So if anybody is in the area and wants to get some hands on engine swapping experience in an ST162, respond here or shoot me a message!

    Thanks!

    Hi Ferg,
That sounds like a fun (and hard) project...I wish I was closer so I could be a pest in another state.

    Thanks for the replies!

Saturday we picked an engine out of a wrecked (ideal) ES300, brought it over to our garage and swapped out most of the high wear components (Oil Pump, Water Pump, Timing Belt, Tensioner, a bunch of gaskets) and then the components we needed from our old engine because of modifications or whatnot (flywheel, clutch, intake manifold, fuel rail, vacuum sensor assembly). Then we mounted it in the car, got wiring all straightened out, and re routed all of the oil cooler/accusump equipment; we finally got it started lastnight, and it runs well!
