The Green Celica, my ST162 rally car, found her in a bush at my friends place, he had the car for about 8 years and forgot about it, then i found it and bought the car, cleaned it up, painted it, and put new shocks, engine, gearbox, most of the interior, and new suspension setup, and gave her a few stickers along the way. She's my first car, she isn't for road, but i treat her better than any woman i've had, haha. In this thread you will see her from when i first got her, to how she is now.
I love the colours on this car. Still a nice find if i say so. When your dad did the respray was there much rust in the car? Keep posting up with these cars the amount of progress you have done is already amazing. also unsure if you need fromt and rear swaybars but rev_head is selling his pair for $250
There was a little rust around the rear tail light, and in the bottom of the right hand guard, but all the other spots i just scotch-brided them out (steel wool) and the read tail light used some aluminium plate on the inside, thank you for the good feedback! And i recently purchased sway bars, shocks, springs, drilled and slotted rotors, new engine, and 2 more cars. It you need some shocks or performance parts, i'd be glad to help
looking like its getting treated like a real rally car now. are you actually sponsored by murchison service station? as i have filed up there a couple of time on my pops account when we visit them it's the service station in the main street near meteorite park?.
Haha sure is, cleaned it up heaps after that day And not fully sponsored, no signing of papers, just have the sticker on there and he gives us good deals
That's cool if they give great deals id drive with the sticker on my car lol What other plans are there for this car to improve it? an oil cooler and oil filter relocation kit?
Next step is probably air filter (POD filter), stickers for the rear, bigger spoiler, and maybe some other performance parts later on
don't go with a pod filter. stick with the oem box, but put a k&n filter in it as the oem box is already a cold air intake. you'll lose hp. bigger spoiler for what? if there's one thing that kills the look of the 4th gen celica, it's an aftermarket spoiler.
I was actually going to suggest what entraxx said about the panel filter. Im running a custom cold air intake hose to my stock airbox with a k&n panel filter. That way very little mods are needed and with a pod also you would need to build a custom box to make sure cold air does get to it anyways and get an adapter to fit the pod to. All pods do imo is make a loud noise when you hit Tvis but dont really add any hp if not very tiny amount. But still keep us posted on what you do. what tines do you usually get in the motorkhanas?
ah ok i never knew that i always thought there was a slight differene but might be mainly the noise they make that makes you think that.
