If so, do you remember what it looked like? Would you happen to know of a picture where one is installed?

    Please enlighten me!

If I remember correctly, Cusco actually made 2-3 different version for the 162, one even had dual tubes and solid mounting (non-adjustable center) points.

It's been around for a long time, but until the pic above I had never seen one mounted.

Jay-Dee, how well did it fit?

they fit straight on as they should do. obv you adjust the length so it lines up with strut bolts. wish i kept mine as it'd be handy for the st165 i have now.

oh, but you have to make a bracket to mount the ign coil, as it normally connect to the stock brace. can't remeber if yo could use the stock and cusco at the same time.

I thought I hadn't seen one.......... until I saw Jay-Dee's pic and if I remember correctly they can be used with the standard strut brace.

WhiteLine strut bars can also be used with the standard brace.

I have read plenty here over the years and I'v come to agree that our standard strut bar and front sway bar are enough for my car.

A rear strut bar and/or thicker sway bar would help but I'll do new bushes all round first.

i dont have a cusco strut brace but just an aussie made one from and exhaust shop in Queensland that only cost $50Aud posted to me.
extremely strong and was meant for a s15 silvia but i modded it to fit. with redrilling holes.
if i was good at welding i would have lowered the bar a little bit more to make it not hit them bonnet instead i removed a bit of my bonnet bracing that wasnt holding onto the bonnet anymore.

    here is a pic.

Their is actually 2 different braces. A ST162 and a ST165. The ST165 brace is a bit higher to clear the intercooler and intake hose and will also fit on the ST162
but the ST162 brace will not clear the stock ST165 intake manifold, you would have to convert to the side feed ST162 intake manifold

hah, yeh i have the st162 std brace on my st165 atm, fortunately i fitted the caldina intake mani before i tried fitting the brace, tho the extra clearance would possibly be handy still.

interesting that they're slightly different. might have to see if i can find one.

Good stuff and good to see you back :cheers

The idea of a strut bar is obvious but it needs to be as straight/rigid as possible to avoid flex.

As the pictures show, surely these bars have to be round or square for rigidity.
