So I've been having issues trying to pass my cars emissions. My first emission test was:

Currently at 8 timing. Ran injector cleaner a tank ago and using 87 octane.

    C02 (15mph) 14.60 o2 .74
    C02 (25mph) 14.60 o2 .76

    HC 46/40

    CO .24/.20

NOx 1185/1300. Max allowed is 559/516.

At this point the guy suggested it was the EGR so I did some research and went ahead and disassembled the EGR, cleaned out the intake manifold connection of all the carbon crud, Seafoam deep reach the EGR tubes, and Seafoamed the car by introducing seafoam into the vacuum lines (which produced a TON of smoke.)

Second test a few hours later was...

    HC 73/63
    Nox 1828/1780

WTF? Why is considerably higher now? Any ideas?

    I'm having a similar problem.
Failed smog because my NOx levels were too high at 15mph.

I heard that you could use 91 octane and/or the Guaranteed to Pass stuff to pass smog. (In the process of using up my tank with this stuff.)

I'll post results once I get those two things through my car's system.

Good luck with passing smog! :)

    Cat needs to be replaced.
My suggestion if she is your daily driver, and you just need to pass smog- leave the orginal ca on (by the manifold) and install an aftermarket cat mid way on your exhaust!
It will stuff up your exhaust but at least you will pass smog!
