Your Celica looks awesome, but I thought that the 3S-GE could overheat other things in the engine bay easily without the heat shield. Is it fine without it, or did you need some additional mods?

the combo of extractors/headers and no heatshield no doubt about it puts more heat in the engine bay. But in my case it shouldnt matter. I run the factory intake so there is already a box to fight the heat and its behind the radiator so cooling temps realistically should be affected atleast bugger all. I also now have the bonnet vent wich is directly above and as we all kno heat rises :)

Thanks for the commnets guys spent ages cleaning and painting that stuff. Glad to know others thingk the result was wurth it :)

i wish my engine bay looked clean like that. All my wires look ugly. Like the wrap around them all are worn or loose

rev how does your car go against commodores? I haven't had a chance to drag any yet since i've done some engine work. When my car was stock i was equal to my friends VS and then just tonight, after work i smashed a EL falcon at the lights.

Have you had any opportunitys to race any other commo drivers lately?

extractors are called hurricanes someone on here found a website that sold them a while ago, cbf searching for the post lol

TBH iv never been one for dragging at the lights. Specially against homodorre drivers. For the bulk of the time its had tires that were fairly bald so traction was always an issue. How ever iv never had a problem getting in front off the line.

I have come to the decision that the previous owner most definately had the timing advanced a fairl descent margin. The car still just doesnt seem to have quite as much balls as it used to. will advance it to 15btcd on the w/e then wel see how i feel about it :)

Re: Rev heads work in progress * ITS ALIVE!!!!!!*

well yesterday finally got of my mass and did something bout all the rusty welds in my floor pan!

3 wire wheels and a shitload of effort and there was not a brown patch in sight. i know because i was using a halgoen lamp. great to see but boy did it make it hot lol.
rubbed it all back masked up and painted away.
I used K&H Chassis paint. Chassis paint is awesome because its durable, easy to apply, has just the right amount of gloss and doesnt require to much effort for prep work.
Gonna customize a couple of the boot trims before i put them in but jimmy and i put the 1/4 trims and seats in and took her for a nice long cruise with his fiance in the back. The econemy was brilliant from essentiallys a full tank shes just shy of half used and its done about 300k's so far and this was not grandma revs used this was 3rd,4th,5th open to tight twisty roads so very happy with that side of things.
Also did a U turn wheels span through 1st (only semi intentional hehe) but completely unintentionally she span through 2nd aswell so grabbed third and plant hmmmm still spinning, 4th yep you guessed it still spinning then took my foot of and put her into 5th. haha stupid i know but was uneintentional for 2nd and 3rd and after that i just wanted to see if itd spin through 4th. This was dry road and good tyres to lol.

anywayz heres the only pic i took so far
    [IMG]

also while i was at it re-sealed the tail lights with selastic. washing tha car with no boot trims made me realize just how much water was flowing in therough them haha. also finally cleaned and popped in the K&N panel filter thats been sitting for like a year lol

be careful with that k&n the previous owner had one in my celica the oil had covered the intake manifold and maf, as well as the throttle, before my car would pass emissions i needed to soak the intake manifold in gas to remove the oil soak, crazy
