So, today I finished fixing up all the vacuum lines on my car and put the tranny and engine oil in. I put the coolant in and was ready to fire her up when I hear a tapping sound on the ground. I looked under the car and there was coolant. So, I went under and took a look and saw that it looked to be coming out from behind the belt tentioner. I removed the alternator and the tentioner and I found my problem. There is coolant leaking out of a small hole right near the water pump. Take a look at the photos I took. I circled the hole in orange. ( photos are from the old engine ) What do you guys recommend I do. I looked in my useless manual and it doesn’t show me any detail or anything. I would like to get this car started tomorrow. What is this little hole for and what should I do?? Thank, ill check back later -Gabe
actually it looks like the waterpump weep hole, all water pumps have it, when the seals go bad in the waterpump it will "weep" out of that hole(hince the name)
Hum, that’s interesting. Ill have to try and take a look at it tomorrow. Any-other suggestions? Thanks, -Gabe
