    well Mafix has told me that unless you plan on racing or stuff like that you don't need synthetic. My owners manual recommends 5W30 for the summer, 10W30 for the winter.

    As far as I know there isn't really any benefit to the "higher milage" oils or the like. Mafix meantioned that Quaker State and Penzoil (same company) oils have some sort of waxy substance in them.

    just goto dealer, become there friend....and get 4quarts of toyota/mobil 1 oil 10-30 and a filter..for 14usd..That works excellent for me. and dont go syn. unless you want alot more leaks...Since syn oil molecules are smaller, they`ll go past our old seals and cause drips...Unless you wanto go ahead and replace gaskets while your at it.

    Use the oil the motor was born with = Factory oil + factory oil filter. Nothing like using the brand of oil used when it was first driven out the car lots when brand new. If there's no dealerships within range, go with mobil 1 oil/filter. K&N makes awesome filters, too! If you're hardcore and track your car, go with Royal purple oil. I use it when I track my turbo S13 and it works AWESOME. I use 5w20 non-synth with my 3s-fe. works fine.

    the filters i recommend either dealer or wix. nothing else. the mobil 1 and k+n filters are way too much for a freaking filter on a daily driver.

    if you have replaced most of your engines seals i.e. oil pan valve cover etc. there is nothing wrong with running synthetic it will last longer between oil changes and various other little +'s its not a requirement though and it can be expensive but it wont hurt the motor. I run synthetic in all of my motorcycles, and a couple of my cars.

    I suggest running Castrol or Mobil 1, they're both good oils and running a 5w40/10w40 wouldn't hurt.

    Filter = PH3614

    Question: I put in 4.4 liters of oil, and the capacity is 4.25 quarts and I think thats about 4.04L, so should I drain some out or will it be ok?

    well check the stick first. it's supposed to be read cool on a DOHC isn't it? cause theres a bunch of oil up top if you check it hot.

    Yes, you're suppose to wait for the engine to cool down before checking your dipstick.
