so the title sums up my problem, basically my exhaust makes a tin can farting noise under load or when you stomp the gas in neutral, its sounds fine idling or when you give it a tiny bit of gas... just want it to sound ricer instead of crapola --possibly usefull info-- 326,000ks (lol) open pod genie extractors redback catback exhaust (dont know how old it is) standard tip
will try it, guy at an exhaust shop said that it might be because its a 2 1/4" pipe and which is too big for a 3sge... what are you guys running?
awesome, ill get the mecha to do it when i take it in to get the belts changed, seems like whenever "I" touch something it breaks or brittles into 10,000 different peices so this way it isnt my fault if something stuffs up
so got sparks changed and still makes the noise.. so i dont know anymore, exhaust place wasnt very helpful in the matter any other theory's?
When I had some holes in my exhaust (3/4's back) it made a noise similar to what you're saying when under load or at idle - maybe that exhaust place didn't look to hard :? -K
it does it less now with the new plugs, more so when the car is cold, went over the entire exhaust myself pretty sure there isnt any holes, yet to get a new fuel pump and clean the throttle body, so ill see what happens then cheers for the help guys
went to change the fuel filter today but couldnt get the bottom (in) fuel line off/undone, didnt want to apply too much force either coz i just seemed to twist the aluminum line trick to doing this or im just retarded and should get a mecha to do it?
ok so had the fuel filter replaced, throttle body and t-vis unit cleaned runs ALOT better.... still makes the noise, but i think i may have narrowed it down to the leads, rotor and cap. when rev'd a spark jumps out the side of the cap and hits some vacuum hoses... and possibly a new fuel pump, any suggestions on which pump i should use for the cost and i guess reliability?
Leave the fuel pump alone and change the cap & arm. I've never seen an in-tank Toyota fuel pump fail.
