    Hey,

Does anyone know if there was a change in front bumper irons over the years? I ask this because my 88 celica convertible st162 bumper iron is quite different to the 86 corona st162 i have.

The 'arms' that bolt onto the chassis rail on the corona's bumper iron are heaps longer than the celica's. I might up some pictures tomorrow.

Google bumper iron - it's not something i made up!

So far the grill, bonnet and pop up headlights have bolted straight up. The celica however has had its chassis rails extended - hence why the bumper iron arms are considerably shorter. Looks like i might have to do some dodgy welding. ;)

sinturion so you are making your corona coupe into a celica? with the lights and etc ?

what you doing with the celica when finished swap them over

    that would be funky!

Get rid of it - its been hit on both the front and the rear - got numerous dodgy repairs and rust. I also found out last night that somewhere water is leaking into the chassis rails.

The bumper and bumper iron is different too! - its more V shape. Should still look ok with your celica bumper though. You'll need to do some custom mounting with the indicators too.

the indicators are a different size? that shouldnt be a problem. hmm different bumper too. have you swapped the hood too? or do you plan to cut the corona?

I think the indicators are the same size - I have to look at them side by side. At a quick glance the mounting backet is in a different place.

I swapped the hood - so currently I have a silver car, with a red front right fender, white bonnet and headlights and no bumper. Looks terrible! I expect the neighbours are going to be moving any moment now!

that diagram doesn't really show how the bumper is more V shaped. I'll see if I can post some pics tonight if it isn't raining.
