I want to disable the ISC on the throttle body, sick of cold idle and normal idle fluctuating between 8-1100 rpm warm, adn 1500-2000rpm cold. Doesnt do it while on, only does this starting the car at diff times if that makes sense. Ca I do this then sert it to 800rpm? While it stall when cold?

Also my A/C Idle up doesnt work after 2 different vacuum valves on the firewall, an playin with the yellow adjuster. What else is there?

from what ive heard they all idle high when cold, good thing warms her up quicker and u can ever take off with out using the gas lol ! but of course u need to just after u let the clutch otu

ya my car idles 2500 cold and then goes to 900ish once warm. Toyota put if on for a reason so i wouldn't worry about it too much, i wouldnt think that much if any good would come from it. especially since brand new cars do the exact same thing when cold (idle doesn't fluctuate but it is raised).

My 87 GT-S idles at 2500 cold as well. I think it is a bit out of spec though. Anybody know what the idle is supposed to be when cold?

Sometimes, when it is below 10F or so, it will engage the emissions "fuel cut" off and on. It sounds a little bit like a rev limiter, but slower.

Basically, when the ECU sees the revs above 2500 or so, with the throttle points closed (foot not touching the gas pedal), it believes you are coasting down a hill while in gear and cuts the fuel for emissions purposes. Maybe I'll make a video of it sometime.

Does anybody else's Celica do this?

ya mine does that also, its seems like a choke kinda thing almost. i think that might be what dan1_721 might be talking about when he says "normal idle fluctuating between 8-1100 rpm warm, adn 1500-2000rpm cold." but i could b wrong

im sure 2500 seems a bit overboard for a 1st start up idle !!

the highest mine is ever done that at it is like 1600

    2500 would be insanely loud!

My car is actually reasonably loud and raspy. Has full original exhaust, tried 3 original mufflers and sounds the same. Are these things noisy stock? My old car was like a mouse, this roars....

Basically mine just idles like shit. Between 1100-and 800 when warm, which is why i want to disable it and just have it at 800
    .

Bascially wanted to know if it will stall like this when cold though....

Ac idle up doesnt work anyway, but is a diff system...

if no one knows you could always try it out on a weekend (or when you dont need the car). and if it works then thats good otherwise hook it back up. i agree my 2500rpm is high but i cant really do anything about it, it starts at 2000rpm for 5 secs then goes to 2500rpm. also i dunno how cold it gets where yall live, its pretty cold here during the winter so im gunna see how it goes as the weather warms up.
