I'm back after having fixed way to much crap on my car :p ... new problem that I need a bit of help on if you would all be so kind.

I just replaced my alternator and now my AC Compressor decides to lock up, I don't even use AC and plan on removing it all once discharged but what are my options for now?

can I strap the belt to the idle pulley and alternator? big dude at pep boys says no, but between buying a new compressor for 429.00 i would choose to toss it.

thanks all, just hoping to drive my fiance to work without squeeling and smoking :)

Mafix fabbed up a bracket to get rid of the ac compressor then just ran a belt that fit....

Take a measurement of the distance between the pulley's excluding the AC compressor and then head to a autoparts place. Snag up belts that are close to the same little smaller, little bigger and return the ones that don't fit. I know thats how Mafix did it. There's no custom bracket. Just removed bracket.

Me to, just took off compressor and changed belts. You also need to keep a sensor plugged in from the a/c, otherwise your fan will run full time and you will burn out a relay, from memory its the one near the bulkhead, its either blue or grey I think. The sensor is found plugged into a AC pipe that runs into the bulkhead.

    Hope this helps
