Yo whats up fellas. I am currently working on my 1989 Celica ST and income tax season is right around the corner again and I'm very interested in installing headers. Does anyone know where I can find some or which ones to buy? Since I'm not really car smart, I thought I'd come ask you guys. So help me out please?

    Thanks! :)

Yes you have a 3sfe engine which is what those are meant for. The ST and GT have the same engine.

Removing weight from the car, installing a K&N filter, and a balance and blueprint of the engine is about it, oh and a lightened flywheel and performance clutch, like ones from Southbend Clutch.

Or a 3sgte swap! Nothing beats turbo power! Lol (my opinion)

Not a big fan of turbo engines, but a nice BEAMS red-top, black-top, or similar is my favorite, still close to 200hp and reliable.

Yup...GTE swap haha but there aint much in the way of performance parts for the FE...i had the same problem...unless you buy an Ebay turbo kit...boost that FE till she blows bruh!!!!

can you get more than 200HP out of the 3SGE???

You can, but it would cost a lot, because you would be to do a complete race ready build. It would be easier to start with say a Red Top Beams and go from there, or just be lazy and drop the GTE engine, harness, and GTE ECU into it!

You call it lazy, I call it fun! Lol I love my gen 3 gte and love turbo charged engines. I'm also 23 years old lol

Yeah the turbo cars I've driven all had too much turbo lag, and I hated the whole waste-gate thing, as it seemed to always rob power just as it was needed most. Plus every car I've ever used in competition, and that list is quite long, has had a NA engine with zero power adders. Fact is, the Celica is only the third car I've put on a race track and/or autocross course that was fuel injected, all others had a carburetor.

Well now days there is ways to get less of turbo lagg. But I am impressed of the guys that build full NA cars like world Time Attack Mighty Mouse CRX that thing is a beast. And man he plays with the big puppy's. But don't really no what to do cause I am almost done with my suspension just need to install my T3 tailing arms and st205 brake calipers and disc's. That was the first plan the finish the suspension. Then drop an engine. But don't no what to do cause I don't have a lot of resources well school....cause I live in apartment. I did all my suspension in my little garage space lol. My goal is to build a Time Attack Monster. I haven't seen any of them.

Well damn, honestly I dontnreally wanna engine swap. I mostly just wanna work with what I have already. So you guys are saying I have a 3SFE and I can get more power out of it? Cause I have an air filter right now and I'm going to tune up the Celica next month and buy those headers the person below my first post mentioned and drop those in. Is there really anything else I can AT LEAST do to get some more speed/power?

Thanks fellas, really appreciate the help.

Well what kind of exhaust system? & if I do my suspension, I would only drop the Celica an inch at the most. Do you know what kind of suspension I should get too?

Yeah, I also get good gas mileage with my car. I usually put around $20 & it gives me almost a full tank. But I really wanna get more speed out of the Celica!
