Thanks man, this was very useful info actually.. I'd been planning on this myself (with the white lights), but just never got around to it.. This inspired me to get it done, lol
I did the center console ones too. Loving the crisp, modern white.

As a little tip, too - transparent cellophane (in red, blue, etc) behind the coloured areas will really bring the colour out - ie the redline RPMs in red, rather than that washed-out orange/red from the white light.

just ordered these for the rest of the lights, still have to do the console as of yet lol
fyi the car uses two different sizes for the lights in the interior.
these will be for replacing the dummy lights

or they will be when they come in from friggin china lol. i also ordered a very large set of leds to replace the dim dome light, the panel i ordered has 48 leds on it so that should do the trick there lol. and next on the adjenda will be repairing and replacing all of my brake lights and turn signals and then finally the headlights. i plan on removing it again and taking step by step pics on how to do it so others can be inspired as well, its really not as daunting a task as people think it is. Im glad i have inspired you to get it done as well.
    edit....
just ordered these for my brake lights 65 leds each,,, that should do the trick hehe.

That shouldnt be much of an issue with these older tail light lenses, they are thicker and redder than newer model ones and i am going to tint them anyway which will offset any color difference like that so its all good, good tip though.

Thanks for what? not sure what i did but your welcome lol. pics should be up tomorrow sometime, been busy working at my new job, isnt anything fancy just delivering pizza but the sweet thing is i get to drive my car and get paid to do it lol. that and making 60 dollars a night in tips helps as well. Tomorrow im hitting the parts store to get some window tint, i have an idea on an easy way to tint my lights using it. I figure its worth a shot and i havnt heard anyone else doing it so hopefully its an original idea lol. And no worries ill take pics of the progress on it as well so all can see if it works or not. i figure i will either be a genious or a moron lol. And ill also take some pics and maybe write up a tutorial and post a new thread for the guages removal and led instalation. The real fun part comes when my mini leds come in and i get to remove my console again so i can replace all of the bulbs in my heater controls. it has quite a few bad bulbs in it, along with a few others.

I noticed that after i have driven my car for a bit if i let it sit awhile, like 15 to 20 mins or so, engine still at full operating temp though, that i have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running and rev it for a few seconds. Its flooding while its parked for some reason, i can tell because when i rev it up it sputters a bit then clears the excess fuel out then runs fine again till next time. Im thinking it may be a bad fuel pressure regulator allowing fuel to go through the vaccume line. Any thoughts on this latest issue would as always be appreciated though. So yet another thing to check out tomorrow lol. busy day as long as it dont rain.

Here are some random pics, a couple of before and after of my rims when i cleaned them a while back, a pic of the first leds o bought for my tail lights before i found out they sit sideways in the lens making this type useless, btw this type isnt brighter than a stock bulb at all so buyer beware dont get them. and some interior pics. enjoy.

oh and this one i took when i finally figured out why my cigaret lighter wasnt working. see the copper piece with the blue wire? The blue wire is the one i soldered onto it to connect the two pieces together, had a tiny black one on there that was broken so i replaced the small wire and that fixed it.

got one of my tailights tinted today, other than a few small screwups i like the way it came out, and it dont really dim the lights enough to notice.

Thank you for telling us in detail on how to change the bulbs in the gauge.

Just read your photos write up for that subject, excellent photos and very clear. We can see that Toyota use a lot of screws to hold things together which is why our ST16 cars are so well built. Toyota had thought it through in every detail possible.

Glad to hear your Celica is put in daily use, they certainly are bombproof !

    Good job on the tints.

No kidding.. it's to the point that there are screwed angled to be within reach only while the glove box is open.. Others hidden under different covers that pop off..
It's beautifully clean, but very strongly held together overall. This can be a downside, too - if something is resisting and doesn't want to come off... Don't tug, there's a screw hidden somewhere.. lol

With the exception of the front side marker lights the tinting is all done. I am loving the way it looks now. i also fixed my hood prop today, had to make a bracket for it to sit in since the original one was missing, it works great now and now i can leave it where it is supposed to be instead of having to get it out of my trunk when i wanna tinker with it lol. Its a great car, just has a ton of small issues because its been mistreated.

Great work on the lights, they look a treat.......not sure about those carpets though ;)made my eyes go all funny looking at your lights combined with the colours of that carpet.

Can't wait to see photo of it when you've given it a good polish.

Sure it needs a good bath and detailing. Just wish it didnt have so much peeling clearcoat. She needs a new paintjob and then a good polishing lol.the roof is the worst, and its coming off the front fenders, bumper, spoiler, and mirrors and even a couple of spots on the doors. So with that going on im not sure if i will ever polish it unless i get it repainted first. And even before that its going to need a fender replaced and a bit more body work. I plan on removing the rubber strips that run down the sides and eventually get rid of the side markers completely and fill the holes in. Leaving the body nice and smooth. Also wanna lose the ugly pinstripe. That stuff is on the back burner at the moment untill i get the funds together to get the parts and find the leak that is leaving the small puddles under the car. Hoping its not the rear main cause if it is then ill have to pull the engine to change it.A/C dont work either so ill be removing that as well.
