Short shifter applications

    These pictured are both standard shifters? Not aftermarket?

    I altered my standard 165 one it was way to long

    From this

    To this, A good 2" shorter

    Not a true short shifter but looks and feels much better,

    Yes, st204 on the left, 185 on the right. The st204 shifter would be an upgrade for the st185.

    Alright. And neither will fit in a st16x correct? Or unknown?

    Yes they both fit, but you wouldn't fit the st185 one as theyre very sloppy.

    I have an '86 ST161 GT, the shifter is exactly the same as my 2 ST162 GTS Celica's. I am experimenting with both the TWM short throw shifter and the '94 Celica shifter, which is already a shorter throw than our cars.

    does the st204 shifter and shifter cage fit/have the same bolt pattern as the st162 shifter cage?

    The 204 base plate and shifter cage do not fit the same bolt pattern on the center tunnel, I am looking to modify a 162 base plate to accept the 204 shifter. I'll post pictures the next time I get to do some work on the car, the garage has no power right now, and I've gotta do that first.
