Found this on Gumtree, thought someone might be interested in saving it before it gets parted out and scrapped: http://m.gumtree.com.au/1989-toyota-celica-complete-or-parts/v?adId=1009884656#celica parts
Yeah it looks like the poor thing has had a hard life. I'd rescue it myself but I'll be in trouble with the boss if I pick up another project with one still on the go and a long way from being finished.
F'k yeah, this is one of 300 on the planet and the same as mine.......... grab that sucker and shed it and I will give you the cash if you like............. I'm serious
Got it. I got mine from a rich dude that gave it to his daughter as a birthday present but she wanted a manual so never drove it. He also had no idea what he had and neither did I when I bought it off him :lol Keep us updated here :cheers BTW........... I paid $3000 for mine :fingers
Ah well, hopefully it went to a good home to get restored. There was another one on eBay that went yesterday for $560, I was considering buying it but the sellers feedback was extremely dodgy so I let it go... There will be others...
ha! The ebay car has been re-listed. I was hesitant to bid on it because the sellers feedback included such sterling comments as "I bought it cheap and they refused to sell it to me because they said it was too low", "Condition not as described" and "refuses contact". So here's the finished no-reserve listing for the car with the winning bid at $560: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300821228860?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 and here's the listing that appeared the very next day with a buy it now price of $2900: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1988-Toy...-/300826344262?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item460aa5bb46 dodgy bastards....
Yes it is, a sale at auction is a legally binding agreement, I cannot place a winning bid and then try to bargain the price down, and you cannot refuse to sell something to me if I have bid above the reserve. Whether the person who bought this chooses to persue legal action to obtain their purchase is another thing though...
That poor celica has heen relisted soo many times. what i find funny though is the NO RESERVE in the auction title is false advertising we should report to ebay as it is misleading and unfair to the bidders. i had a case against a couple of sellers about clothing i bought and won as the descriptions were wrong and the clothes were fake. i just cant beleive evay hasnt picked up on this as its veen relisted 10 times from memory now.
Gidday Matty, scary stuff.......... get your head around what I just read http://tehparadox.com/forum/f28/new-ebay-paypal-scam-4712535/ And this, which is the full story on the editor above http://codenerdz.com/blog/2012/12/03/think-of-selling-on-ebay-using-paypal-think-again/
Interesting reading Spidey. It's sad that one has to be naturally suspicious of other people , but there are an awful lot of scumbags out there. I try to avoid selling things on ebay, the fees have gotten ridiculous in the last couple of years, I recently sold two items for a total of $320, and got a $60 bill from eBay.
