So the PSR on my car is toast, and it leaks almost all the fluid every night. I need to replace it but cant really afford to have someone do it for me. I need to know if I can do it and how hard it will be to replace. I had someone tell me I would have to pull the engine to get to it and get it outhnoes HELP please!!!
Everything is easier with a lift.......Sadly I dont have access to one. O well driveway it is! Is the statement about pulling the engine true? Cuz Ive never pulled an engine before
well it takes about 2 to 3 to do the full rack replacement with the engine in the car........and 20 minutes with it out.......takes me about 45 min to pull a motor.....time wise its easier to pull the motor......but then i'd just end up replacing more shyt......
the rack is an all day project. NO, the engine doesnt need to come out. you DO have to pull both crossmembers off (engine will be supported by the side mounts in the bay) and lower the exhaust. you dont need a lift, but i would make it MUCH easier. the problem is just the access to all the pressure lines on the rack. they are a pain to get off, but it can be done. I just did it a month ago w/o a lift or pulling the motor. remember, pull the tie-rods off (at the inner) before you take the rack off the mounts. this will make it easier to slide out from underneath. -really give yourself all day to do it and work slow. its a frustrating one, especially laying on the floor, and you dont what to bend/kink any of the lines. $ wise its definatly worth it to DIY.
Yeah u dont have to pull the motor....i was just saying it makes it super easy....it also helps if u have to do it anyways
