too bad you didn't grab your fuel sender...you need it to run the digital dash and it takes 5 min to take out :/

What the hells does a st161 look like???? Is it a rwd corona with a 2s if it's is rwd do you have a 2s rwd sump pickup and engine mounts?

no. it's the same as a st162 except it's a 2s-e, s53 fwd, called a "GT", no power anything, no spoiler, no strut tower bar, 4 bolt, drum brakes and only came in the 1986 model year

If someone can read exactly what the digi dash fuel sender outputs compared to the non-digi dash one, I should be able to quickly whip up a signal converter for for anyone with a digi dash and no sender.

i'm an electrical noob with the digi fuel sender and a multimeter. what do i do exactly?

I'm not quite sure exactly. I think the non-digi sender just works on resistance like the rest of the gauges, but I don't know why it would need a different signal for the digital dash.

If you could post some pictures of the digi sender from a few different angles I can see what technical bits it's using.

+1. also while its plugged in can you measure the outputs on the wires going into it at different points of the float, that way we can make a ADC (analog to digital converter)

Is that the digi gauge one? That's just a simple voltage divider, nothing fancy there.

EDIT: Didn't notice the little black box, looks like that must house an ADC. Now we just need to know what signals it outputs.
Could you get a picture of the wires so I can see all the colours?

On the analog gauge the 'signal' wire is Yellow-Blue, so I'm guessing that one is the signal for the digi dash too.
I'd hazard a guess and say Red-Blue is the opposing data line and the white and black wires are power for the ADC.

If you can, get a multimeter out and see if you can find 0Ohms between any of the output wires and either side of the voltage divider.

ie - between one of these:

and any of the harness wires.

    is 0ohms = continuity?

Yep 0 Ohms = no resistance = direct connection.
