Hi guys. I was looking to get one of these springs and wanted to get your opinions. Which one would you prefer ? Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Spring Toyota Celica 1986-1989 1987 1988 8207.140 http://www.raceinspired.com/p-2158-eibach-pro-kit-lowering-spring-toyota-celica-1986-1989.aspx B&G Suspension Systems 92.1.012 S2 Sport Vehicle Lowering Spring http://www.amazon.com/Suspension-Systems-92-1-012-Vehicle-Lowering/dp/B0042ES2BO ST Springs - SportTech http://aspectuning.com/i-132294.aspx
I am a dealer for all three of those companies. I have never heard anything bad about the Suspension Techniques or H&Rs. However, I use the Eibachs and just like the other posts I love them. Everyone I've sold the Eibachs to loves them as well.
I'm just asking because I have an Eibach pro kit as well, but I'm afraid to put it in since my bodykit already makes the car lower. In theory, my kit drops an inch, but I heard that the actual drop can be different from what the manufacturer sais. Why did I buy it, you may ask. Because I want a little stiffer suspension. But I don't really want the drop.
For clarification sake, Mafix is referring to the Entrax set for our cars not what was listed above in the first post.
B&G's on GR-2's... as close to 2" as you can get... I hit the front mudflaps on mid-size speedbumps, but that's about it...
Today I came across this pots http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/tech-conversions/11881-how-fit-st185-coilovers-st165.html and it says It doesn't exactly say that they are direct fit but it sounds like that... Do you guys know anything about it ?
yes actually 4thgenceli fitted 5th gen megan coil-overs with just a simple mod to the rears.....but he has an 89 gt-s.....so there might be a small difference.
are gr-2's stock replacement struts? i heard a few things about stock struts on lowered springs so i was wondering if you recommend them based on your experience?
Yup... Over a year and a half, no complaints or problems... The tires on the other hand.... I need to increase size for practical as well as aesthetic reasons. going to move up to 205-55's with the 10mm spacer first, the try a bigger set of spacers if needed. Just not enough tire for a good haul. Definitely the ticket for short, twisty routes.
the struts in my car are still really good..100x better than in my first celica...should i just get the springs now, save up for struts maybe next year? b&g's on sale for $140!!! i don't mind taking apart the suspension twice or three times, just can't afford the whole lot right now
That's entirely a judgement call... I read the stories on AGX's too, everything is gonna wear faster when they are altered or for special applications. GR-2's wear out, AGX's adjustment ability fails, and stock setups wear out and bounce around like a carnival ride. Guess it depends on how much money you want to throw at it....and how often...
ah hell it's my first time for suspension work, gonna go on the cheap here to get to know everything before i get serious about it
If you can score B&G's for 140.00 your already waaaaaaayyyyyy ahead of the game... I didn't find any on special when I ordered mine...
